The
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR LABORATORY ACCREDITATION (A2LA) is a
nonprofit, non-governmental, public service, membership society
dedicated to the formal recognition of competent laboratories and
related activities. The mission of A2LA is to provide recognition
services in laboratory accreditation, quality system registration and
accreditation of inspection bodies.
Accreditation
signifies that a laboratory and its quality system have been found to
meet the general requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 17025. In addition,
accredited Calibration laboratories have been found to meet the
requirements of ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994. Laboratories are accredited in
specific fields and, in some cases, specific product areas.
